PE Kit

Physical Education is one of the foundation subjects in the National Curriculum and is a compulsory subject for all pupils.

The same high standards in P.E. kit are insisted upon as for school uniform. Clothing with designer labels (Adidas, Umbro etc) is unacceptable. In addition to the health related benefits of regular exercise, PE helps to develop team building skills and a sense of self discipline. All pupils are expected to take an active part in lessons. A note from parents is required if a pupil needs to miss a lesson because they have been ill. For longer term problems a formal medical diagnosis will be required and parents should arrange to discuss the situation with our PE staff.

All pupils must have the following compulsory items:

  • Plain navy and yellow T-shirt (SJF badge and name of pupil) or plain navy T-shirt,
  • Rugby Shirt: Navy with yellow panels (optional),
  • Plain navy shorts (No cycling shorts/leggings) and long socks,
  • Plain navy jogging trouser, (optional to be worn at the discretion of P.E. staff)
  • White ankle sports socks,
  • Plain navy and yellow hoodie (SJF badge and name of pupil) or plain navy sweatshirt
  • Black or white training shoes (not fashion trainers or pumps),
  • Football boots (Boys only),
  • Shin Pads
  • Gum Shields for Rugby
  • Towel (for all lessons)

*Pupils who forget to bring kit will be required to wear kit provided by the department.

*We understand that uniform costs can be substantial and it is acceptable for tops/sweatshirts to be plain i.e. without the St John Fisher badge or pupil name as long as they are the correct style and colour. Please do not buy kit with designer logos.

*In all situations pupils must bring their full PE kit along with their note in their planner so that they can participate in either coaching, analysis of performance or umpiring/refereeing.

*The PE Department will lend the pupil PE kit to wear should they forget to bring their own kit. The pupils must wear the PE kit they are provided with. This kit will be washed after each use.

Your School Games

The School Games Mark is an awards scheme which rewards schools for their dedication to the development of competition across their school.

OfSTED use the Mark award as part of their inspection framework and schools can use it as a development tool to aid the PE teacher or Headteacher.
