Admission for Normal Age of Entry to Secondary Education

Parents who have a child in Year 6 and wish to apply for admission to St John Fisher Catholic College for Year 7 need to contact their relevant local authority.

In Year School Admissions (also known as mid year or transfer applications)

Parents who have a child currently in secondary education but who wish to apply for a place/transfer to St John Fisher Catholic College need to complete our application. Download Here

Parents who have a child currently at St. John Fisher but who wish to apply for a place at another school need to complete the application form from Staffordshire county council http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/education/schoolsandcolleges/admissions/admissions.aspx and return it to the school for the attention of the Headteacher. If your child has been baptised as a Catholic please provide a copy of your baptism certificate with your application. If you wish to transfer from another school please ensure that you and the headteacher of your child’s current school complete section 4 on the application form.

SCHOOL ADMISSION APPEAL TIMETABLE 2017

Appeals for normal round of admissions
Date of allocation of places 1st March 2017
Deadline for lodging appeals and providing evidence to support the appeal (if appropriate) 30th March 2017
Appeals will be  heard by 9th May 2017
Notice of appeal hearing 24th April 2017 : At least 10 school days notice of the appeal hearing
Deadline for governing body to submit evidence for the appeal 21st April 2017
Deadline for sending appeal papers to all parties No later than 10 school days before the appeal hearing
Deadline for appellant to submit additional evidence  2nd May 2017 : Five school days before the appeal hearing. Information or evidence not submitted by the deadline might not be considered at the appeal
Late applications for appeals will be heard by At the same time as previously scheduled appeals or within 30 school days of appeal being lodged
Decision letters sent to appellant Normally within five school days

Appeals for Sixth Form – appeals may be made by the student and/or the parent/carer
Deadline for lodging appeals and providing evidence to support the appeal (if appropriate) 20 school days from the date of notification that the application was unsuccessful
Where the offer of a place would have been conditional upon exam results - Appeals will be heard Within 30 school days of confirmation of those results
Where the offer of a place would not have been conditional upon exam results - Appeals will be heard Within 40 school days of deadline for appeals – 26th October 2017
