Curriculum Overview

At St John Fisher we run a two year key stage three curriculum where students experience a broad and balanced range of subjects (see table below). During years Seven and Eight students will cover the basics in subject areas and will develop the necessary skills required to progress onto GCSE and equivalent qualifications in these areas during Key Stage Four.

At the end of Year Eight students go through the options process and can choose three subjects that they wish to continue studying to GCSE (or equivalent) during Years Nine to Eleven. In Year Nine students study the core curriculum (see table below) in addition to three subjects chosen through the options process. For more information on the options process please refer to the options submenu. Additional information for subject areas can be found in the KS3/4/5, options and department sub menus.
